Some Stanzas in Memory of late Professor Boghshoh Lashkarbekov
Cẽ Fazal Amin Beg en (February 2, 2014, Gilgit)

Nogũmon wudgem kẽs̃hen, ce lup yi badh khabar
Po jonon-ẽ k̃hetki safar, rek̃hki K̃Hik zik-e sarwar
Incredible, I heard a very shocking news today,
Our beloved, the head of the Wakhi language, has gone on his (eternal) journey.

K̃Hatet gar k̃hetk towe kuch, dem tirichig̃h sak bi-yor
Ti baf guftor et kirdor, wũrek̃hki mils-e qamar
Though, you have departed, you have left us alone here in the darkness;
For us, you have left your words and deeds like the moonlight.

Zik et farhang-e dem kasp, ti yarki mũrd̃umer dogh
Boghshoh tu Shoh-e yem bogh, weres̃htep nung ti‘n da sar
In linguistic and cultural field, your professional contributions have inspired the community;
O Boghshoh! You are the King of this garden and your name will always rest on the top.

K̃Hũ mũrdũm et basharer, k̃hũ donish dhetet pẽndor
Salom ta’r ilm-e sitor, weres̃ht pidhing ti gowhar
To your community and humans, you gifted your knowledge;
O star of knowledge! Salute wish to you and wish the essence to glow.

Alh-e ilm cartes̃h tirin, sẽk ti tahqiq-e meydon
Kertet ghafch chiz dem ayon, mindorig̃h carenes̃h yasht tar
Proud of you are the intellectuals and knowledge-seekers on the field of your contributions;
Different facets in the field you uncovered, and they acknowledge you for them.

Yinyot-e rang towe wing, ceyev wezd dem po watan
Tu ya ilm ti zib et tan, ti johar lal-e ya g̃har
Seeing you was just like a dream, when you came to our homeland;
Your personality was dressed up with knowledge, your essence was like the ruby.

Dũnyowes̃h khalg-e ki yit, chires̃h ko khalg yan skem thit
Shũm ãz̃hdar harjayes̃h c̃hit, neyes̃h cart hechkuyer shar
If the world swallows people, why do they yearn for it?
The dragon of death treads everywhere, not sparing anyone.

Nasib ta’r bogh-e bihisht, sarbũland cherm tu ta bar
Cartes̃h du’o Mũsofir (Fazal Amin), tu got harwakht ya samar
May you live in the promised garden, may you enter the gate of heaven;
May you always reap the fruits of your crops, Musofir (the voyager of this world) prays for you.

Composed on the death day of late Dr. Boghshoh Lashkarbekov on February 2, 2014
