Ye Z̃hu Khuz̃hg Mum Gul Bahor! Hey My Beloved Grandma Gul Bahor!

K̃han’mes̃h wudhg yi chand qisa, torikh en dez̃hgi hawola
Wostep kuy khũsh, kuy khafa, magam yemi qarz dẽ rishta
Salom sẽk sav hadem ror, wezit dishen Mum Gũl Bahor!
I’m sharing some accounts of a story, reference taken from the history,
Some will be happy and some unhappy, but it’s a debt on me in kinship,
Salute to you all on this day today, let’s come and know about Grandma Gul Bahor!

Pomir-e ya khũshruy sitor, Wuk̃h watan-e lup kirdor
Shekhsovedet ozmoyishev hazor, dẽ k̃hũ zindaigig̃h-e korubor
Cum’ret tiwetk ko dos̃htdor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
A star of the Pamir, a big character of Wakhan homeland,
Thousands of tests You passed through, in the business of your life,
Tolerant were you extraordinarily, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Tu Ismo’iliyat ti imon, tẽrmisken da ti tat khondon
Nosir-e Khusraw-e pir murdisht, wũrkhet tu to da Wakhon
Tu’t k̃hũ Imom-e payrowkor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
Isma’ilism was your faith from the earlier time in your paternal family,
The spiritual guides and followers of Nasir Khusraw were spread up to Wakhan,
Follower were you of your Imam of the Time, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Tu’t awlod-e ya Qoziyon, ti zharzh peter Mir Silum Khon
Bu mũlk mulung viti’t skord, riyosat-e Kũnjũdh et Wakhon
Har jayev sẽk tow iftikhor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
A progeny of Qoziyon were you, your foster son was Shah Silum Khan,
You became a bridge between two countries, the State of Hunza and Wakhan,
At each place, people get pride of you, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Tu’t Qozi Makhzũm-e jigar et pup Oshũr-e ya hamsar
Abdul Bai-e da khonadon, niyes̃hti’v ti awlodisht nomwar
Arbob Bai Nazar ti nungdor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
You were the liver (daughter) of Qozi Makhzũm and life partner of grandpa Oshũr,
In the family of Abdul Bai, your descendants turned out to be so prominent,
Arbab Bai Nazar was your famous one, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Dhetev ce tower gha ya ranj, zetev ti khunbar et ya ganj
Sũdhoydi’v k̃hater bahodũr, bu rorev vite sohib-e s̃hanj
Kartet yem Ta Parwardigor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
As you were given so much pain, your house and treasure were snatched,
They considered themsevels highly brave, as they became master of the beams (house),
You plead it before God, the Almighty, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Johil’v-e ne disht Khũdhoy-e shan, woc’neret tu Mir-e zharzhnan
Yav takabũrig̃h wocner da khok, neyi tuker zurig̃h et fan
Ki woc’neret yan khudmukhtor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
The ignorant didn’t know the standing of God, you had to become foster mother of the Mir,
Their arrogance had to go in the sand, the power and lie had not to sustain,
And you had to become influential, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Niyes̃hti’t Wuk̃h watan safar, lekertet okhir k̃hũ khunbar
Zamin ki sakht osmon bũland, z̃manisht dẽ to’n hamsafar
K̃hũ diyoreret kert Khũdhoyor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
You started your journey for Wakhan homeland and finally gave up your house and properties,
With a huge hardship and challenge, your kids were your companions,
To your village, you said goodbye, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

K̃hũ wakht-e arbob Nũr Ali, wezde dichor ta’r dẽ niki
Kerti ma’tal Wuk̃h-e safar, ki dũrzd ijozat-e miri
G̃hati’t okhir Mir-e darbor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
The chief of his time Arbab Nur Ali, encountered you with a good faith,
He delayed your travel to Wakhan, so to get permission from the Mir,
You finally reached in the court of the Mir, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Kertev da s̃hig̃hun stowis̃hig̃h, K̃hik nan’v en yav-e qobilig̃h
Sẽk marg-e pudh tu mirbacha, ce’ng shitraũv en yow-e zindagig̃h
Zharzhig̃het dez̃hd tifl-e Bimor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
Praises were witnessed in the palace, regarding the talents of the Wakhi mothers,
On the path of death was the prince, how to save his life was a question,
You got fostership of the sick infant, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Ki shitrakhovdet ya Mirbacha, harjay vit ti dorigig̃h-e qisa
Lup to z̃aq viti’v ce hayron, ki ne g̃hẽtetu yav chora
Mir Khusraw vit cẽ to’n mindor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
When you saved the prince, the story of your treatment prevailed around,
The Old to young all got surprised, as they had become helpless,
Mir Khusraw became indebted to you, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Lekertet poya-e takht Baltit, wozomdet k̃hũ zharzh peter Gũlmit,
Windev Khũdhoy-e ya insof, ki cerengs̃h jald khalger pishit
Ya mirbacha dem ti diyor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
You left the capital Baltit and brought your foster son in Gulmit,
The people saw justice of God, how quickly it returns to the oppressed,
The prince is now in your village, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

G̃hatovdet ya tifl da yiran, vitk khuz̃hgjin yow dem chaman
Ya Mir be vit khũsh et khuram, tapini yow jonashin zẽman
Harkuy ce dhet boj et pindor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
You raised the infant for a year, he had become so lovely here in the garden,
The mir had become highly happy, that his successor was lively in the air,
Everyone thus gave taxes and gifts, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Sẽk k̃hũ zharzh-peter lekertet asar, dam-e imon et baf hũnar
Ki reg̃hde Silum Khon Wuk̃h watan, halde k̃hũ zharzh pupin’v-e bar
Yow aqida ca’n be barqaror, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
You left impacts on your foster son, upon his faith and great skills,
When Silum Khan went to Wakhan State, he stayed in the house of his foster grandparents,
His faith further got strengthened, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Shoh Silum Khon ki vite Mir, yow ne lekert tag tow e wir
Hel et ayloqisht dem ti dhast, molhol’v en neyet halde dhir
Viti’t k̃hũ maydon-e sardor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
When Shah Silum Khan became the Mir, he never left you alone,
The pastures and pasturelands were in your hand, as you didn’t stay away from the livestock,
You became the chief of your field, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Gũlmit vite yi poya takht, Kũnjũdh-e mirig̃her dẽ har wakht
Vite K̃hik’ver yem yi lup quwat, ne tu dẽ Kũnjũdh z̃er’ng yav-e bakht
Ti nik amol en yem qaror, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
Gulmit stood to be a capital, all times for the kingdom of the Mirs,
It became a huge strength for the Wakhi, as it wasn’t so in their fate earlier,
It happened to be so due to your benign deeds, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Neyi kert digar’ver yem malũm,ki vit Ismo’ili Shoh Silum
Riyosat-e tor tu s̃hũw witish, Ismo’iliyater wakht ghal khum
K̃hatet ki wostep wakht sozgore ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
When Shah Silum became the Isma’ili, he didn’t disclose it to others,
On the top of the State was a black cloud, the Isma’ilism was yet in a raw form,
You said that the time will become conducive, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Kũnjũdh-e dem ya riyosat, amaler wezde Ismo’iliyat
Shoh Ardavil ya nungi pir, ki zohiran dẽ towes̃h g̃hat
Vite ya ti Shoh ya shahsawor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
Here in the State of Hunza, Isma’ilism practically emerged (as state religion),
Shah Ardavel, a renowned spiritual guide, apparently reaches you,
Your Shah became the kingly rider, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Lekerti okhir yem jahon, g̃hate Khũdhoy bar Mir Silum Khon
Da ti khun vit marg-e rasum, nasib yower bogh-e janon
Teyi yow nishon et osor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
Finally, he departed from this world, Mir Shah Silum Khan reached in the house of God,
In your house, his death ritual was performed, may God bless him with the garden in paradise,
It still exists in his memory and as a symbol, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Sav-e gũmbiz, masjid et khun, wudhgev be dẽ Gũlmit nis̃hun
Da’wat-e fikr rand’nes̃h ce yasht, ki didig̃hen yav ko da k̃hũ zun
Nep wost rũms̃hetk ti lup kirdor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
Your graveyard, mosque and house still exist as your symbols in Gulmit today,
They stimulate thoughts that they should, at least, be seen in their genealogies,
Your great deeds will never be forgotten, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

Cẽ to’nev ti jigar et dhast, Bai Nazar, Lul et Gũlbast
Ti awlod et ya ti khondon, harjayev da k̃hũ s̃hast et bast
Wudhg tat pẽr nan yasht bishũmor, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
From you are your dear ones and near ones as Bai Nazar, Lul and Gulbast,
Your descendants and family members are in their full swing everywhere,
They are today uncountable in number, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!

To wudhgi ti nung ce zinda, c̃hitep trẽ pũrũt hamisha
Dem ti yod nivishtes̃h wudh, ti Fazal Amin yem chand qisa
Tu yem timiker kushish-e ror, ye z̃hũ khuz̃hg mum Gũl Bahor!
As your name is alive till today, it will always continue ahead,
In your memory today, your Fazal Amin writes a bit of the stories,
It was the day of a small effort, hey my beloved grandma Gul Bahor!
